Welcome to the Combat Revue! 15 years ago, the world was exposed to a terrifying truth: Demons exist, and they possess terrifying power and supernatural technology. It was only through the valiant efforts of a select few, many of whom gave their lives for the effort, that humanity was the victor of the Demon War. Inspired toward a new era of cooperation, the governments of the world took the lessons and the knowledge from that conflict and made preparations for the demons' inevitable return. Those preparations culminated in the Combat Revue: an organization with branches in major cities the world over, gathering those with latent spiritual and psychic power. Because demons feed on the negative emotions of humans to grow stronger, the Combat Revue's purpose is twofold: bolster the morale of the people with song, dance and theatrical performance, and in secret, battle the forces of demons and evil spirits with spiritual powers utilizing mecha designed based upon the demons' own weapons, steel titans that channel and amplify the pilot's own spiritual power: Shikigami. Due to the rarity of sufficient spiritual power reserves in men, the vast majority of combat-ready members of the Combat Revue are young women. You are a military trainee who was pulled from regular training when your massive latent spiritual power was discovered. Between your unprecedented reserves of spiritual energy and your leadership skills, you have been selected as the Captain of one of the first Combat Revue divisions. It's your task to lead these charming and powerful young women into battle...as well as manage their personal drama between tearing tickets and planning show times. - My take on Sakura Wars with a few tweaks. Rather than being set in the 1920s, I left the setting vaguely modern...and because I was never a big fan of the stunty Koubu designs, I beefed up the mecha to be something more like steampunk Gundam scale and style. Here's hoping I did the Combat Revues justice!
