Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Shadow

The year is Universal Century 0110. The terrorist Mafty Navue Erin had been unmasked and executed by the Earth Federation to curb anti-Federation sentiment on Earth for a return to a peaceful status quo. At least, that's what they hoped would happen five years ago. Instead, Mafty had become a martyr, symbolic of a common struggle against the Federation's authoritarian regime, enforced by the Manhunters. His eponymous organization, the anti-Federation rebellion has been given more power just has the Federation had lost its legitmacy, and several more rebel movements spring up worldwide to finish what Mafty had started. You've been in Mafty for a while, a Mobile Suit pilot among many others who defected from the Federation out of disgust for the Circe Unit and the wider Federation's corrupt handling of the initial rebellion. You've been assigned the Xi Gundam, a bleeding-edge prototype recovered from Federation possession, with a Minovsky Flight system, Funnel Missiles, the best beam weapons available and still ready to strike a killing blow to the Federation. It's because you have the right qualities to make the most of it, so no pressure... right? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Finally, decided to come off of a hiatus that included a two month long holiday, with kind of a crazy concept; A whole trilogy that used to be a duology focusing on the next 100 years of the Universal Century setting of Gundam... started because Mobile Suit dogfights are really cool. - I decided to use Hathaway's Flash as a jumping-off point, showing what might happen afterwards and how it would impact the stories of F91 and then Victory Gundam as my next two scenarios catch up to those events, and I'm not even sure a spoiler warning for the novel's end is even necessary because of how well known that is and the way the movies are heading. Still though, I'm really interested in how the IRL UC Next 100 Years Project could tackle F91 and Victory Gundam, given the circumstances both were originally made. So, think of this as a different exploration of the setting showing how things can get better and worse at the same time. -I may have also created something that's basically Project Wingman with Mobile Suits given that I was also taking inspiration from Ace Combat for the well, combat. so there's that.
