Buster Frame Panic MADOX-01

The year is 2026 and constantly-improving technology in the mechanization of frontline combat has invoked a paradigm shift where Armor is concerned. Quadrapedal tanks known as Striding Tanks have been developed for urban warfare as well as Unmanned Combat Vehicles to minimize human losses. In theory, it's the make war more ethical. In practice, this has embroiled Japan in civil war, starting with an armed coup of the National Diet in the name of restoring the Empire and going on from there. That's where you come into this mess. After the JSDF became split between Restorative and Reformist factions, Buster Frames, power armor functioning as heavy infantry and tankbusters were developed. You happen to be a test pilot for the Reformists, testing a combat-ready prototype designated the MADOX-01, until things go sideways and you have to be an active pilot. This is unlike anything you've been prepared for as the country's become a battleground. One thing's for sure, Japan will never be the same again. - Ended up creating another power armor-centric scenario after a sudden bout of inspiration looking at clips of the MADOX-01 on Youtube and this really cool video essay by Curious Archive on mecha in fiction. (Go watch it!) - After falling in love with the design of the MADOX-01 itself. I watched Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01 and found that while it's cool and pretty funny, a 40-minute single episode OVA wouldn't be much of an adventure, so I reworked and heavily expanded the premise, including giving power armor the name of Buster Frames, plus some added inspo for Archive and then Nothing More for the theming. - Ended up being quite a bit darker than I originally planned and all the civil war stuff kinda earned it a mature rating too. - Features Inner Self by LewdLeah, huge thanks for that.
