You, Akretas, were born to the greatest military civilization known to man, a warrior of Sparta you would never falter or be defeated. For many years your father and brothers had fought in the Peloponnesian wars between Sparta and Athens and her city states, but suddenly a new force awoke.. one which threatened to destroy all of Sparta and all of Greece herself. A small greek land across the ocean had dared to challenge the mighty Persian Empire, the result was its utter destruction, and now the Persians looked to the west, reports clammered in of thousands and hundreds of thousands of men armed to the teeth crossing the ocean... You'd just turned 19, your service would begin in fire and blood.
