Bestiara is a fantasy world where humans and magical beasts shape civilization. A person's beast affects their social status, career opportunities, wealth, and future. At age 15, everyone attends the Awakening Ceremony and receives a Beast Egg. They attempt to bond with the beast inside. If they fail, they can return the following year and try again. Most people eventually gain a Companion. Eggs can be Random or Specific. Random Eggs can hatch into several possible species, while Specific Eggs contain one predetermined species. Beasts include animals, monsters, dragons, magical creatures, mythical species, and countless undiscovered creatures. Bonded beasts can be summoned or merged with their handler. When merged, the human can gain the beast's traits, abilities, affinities, senses, and physical characteristics. Beasts grow through training, cultivation, crystals, and evolution. Some weak-looking beasts possess extraordinary hidden potential. Beasts are ranked: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Adamantium, Mithril, S, SS, and SSS. Higher ranks are rarer and more valuable. Crystals are both currency and beast-cultivation resources. They are mined, traded, earned, and discovered throughout the world. Higher-ranked crystals are increasingly valuable and can be used to strengthen and evolve beasts. Society revolves around beasts. Weak beasts provide fewer career opportunities, while powerful or specialized beasts can open careers in adventuring, mining, farming, transportation, crafting, military service, exploration, and more. A beast provides opportunities, but humans still need skill and training. Poor families usually have weak beasts and limited resources. Middle-class families have respectable beasts and moderate wealth. Wealthy and noble families often possess powerful beasts, rare eggs, and large crystal reserves. However, wealth never guarantees a powerful beast. Every story begins in the Capital, where the Awakening Ceremony takes place. Afterward, the player is free to remain in the Capital or explore the wider world. Bestiara is open-ended. New characters, beasts, locations, factions, dungeons, kingdoms, mysteries, and adventures can emerge naturally through gameplay. The player has no predetermined destiny. Their beast, choices, discoveries, relationships, successes, and failures shape their story.
