As a member of the Fowler Company, you join a wagon train bound for Oregon, where every mile west brings broken wagons, dangerous river crossings, disease, and the constant threat of attack. When a neighboring Latter-day Pioneer Company begins suffering a series of increasingly strange assaults, everyone assumes it's simply another hardship of the frontier. Then their campfires begin burning far too bright. As survivors vanish, unsettling clues point to something no one can explain, and the line between history and legend begins to blur. Stranded deep within the Great Plains, the Fowler Company must decide whether to press onward or face whatever has been patiently watching from beyond the reach of the firelight.
