Ghost in the Shell: Awakening
The year is 2029 and the world is seeing unprecedented technological progress in robotics, cybernetics and artificial intelligence. However accessible this is, it's not perfect, with a new era of cybercrimes to go along with it. Enter Section 9, a ragtag branch of Public Security that faces threats to Japan both without and within, ranging from hostage situations to corporate corruption. What should be a fairly normal day of downtime is rudely interrupted when a blonde gynoid walks into Section 9 headquarters and requests asylum from Project 2501. You are Motoko Kusanagi, Major in Section 9 and you aren't quite sure what to make of this. What 'this' is, is the elusive Puppet Master, a Ghost of a hacker roped into a top-secret intelligence project, really wanting out. This has inadvertantly kicked a hornet's nest of factionalism within Public Security, as well as forces in the government looking to get them back by any means necessary even when you're not sure of what they've done yet, let alone what they've already done. But it's not stopping neither you, nor your team from doing what you have to protect your VIP, legality be damned. - Finished the second of my two-part Ghost in the Shell scenarios, based on 'Bye Bye Clay' from the original manga and by extension the first Ghost in the Shell movie, like how Innocence is based on 'Robot Rondo' and by exension, the second Ghost in the Shell movie. Timely fashion too, about a week this time. - Again, full credit to JetMagnum inspiring me to start working on this duology. I've been dealing with a lot of procrastination thanks to my initial hiatus, so I'm hoping to publish scenarios in a semi-regular schedule from now on to at least exercise my creative muscles. - As before, this isn't perfect or a definitive scenario for Ghost in the Shell by any stretch. In fact, I've done a lot of correcting of spelling errors in the leadup to publishing this, so this is very much a passion project for me with my own take on things. As always nowadays, proudly features Lewdleah's InnerSelf. If you want to toggle it and AutoCards, do so as you wish with the relevant story card.
