Soviet Deserter-A Soviet Conscript fleeing from 1980's Afghanistan

A young Conscript from a Mari Family from the Mari Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. His parents have both passed away over the last few years and he has no siblings. He knows his future is anywhere but the Soviet Union. He studied in University briefly before being conscripted and then putting his name in to go to Afghanistan. He is sick of being beaten by his leaders and comrades as part of "The rules of the Grandfathers" He is sick of the corruption and the communist system. His Grandfather and Father's stories of witnessing crimes done by the Soviet Government against the Baltic, Tartar, and Caucasus people still make him sick. While he is proud of his Grandfather and Father for fighting against the Nazis, he hates the Soviets and the Bolsheviks for their crimes. He is disgusted with what the Soviets are doing in Afghanistan and thinks fleeing will let him try to live; but most likely die on his terms. Now he is alone in a remote part of the Afghan-Pakistan border. He is still armed and in Soviet uniform, and has stolen food and cigerettes to trade
