The Diplomat V.4 : The Roman Empire

It is the "Pax Romana" of the Roman Empire in the year 1 CE, and chaos has erupted in the new, unorganized province of Germania. The rule of Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, the province's popular and esteemed Governor, has expired, and a crisis of authority amongst the Romans has been exacerbated by the native Germanic tribes' unrest. An all-out Germanic rebellion, on all parts of the northern Rhine, seems very likely. As a young but inexperienced diplomat in service of the new, accomplished Governor Marcus Vinicius, you have been entrusted with one of the most important tasks in Rome as of now; to stop the eruption of, or at least mitigate, an "Immensum bellum" (a "mighty war") between the frenzied Roman legions and the various bitter and brutal northern Germanic tribes. Will you succeed in your mission, and bring about a lasting peace between the civilized and the barbarians? Or will you watch in horror as your efforts fail with the bloodshed of your countrymen spilt in battle against the Germanics? Or perhaps you aim beyond your post, and through diplomacy and manipulation strive to become a powerful ruler in Germania, or possibly rule the Empire you serve?
