Bureau of Anomaly Control

Bureau of Anomaly Control is an open-world institutional sandbox set inside a classified federal agency that officially does not exist. You play as a newly hired—or forcibly transferred—operative assigned to one of the Bureau’s containment facilities. Your role is defined by choice: Containment Security Officer, Research & Analysis Specialist, or Penal Transfer Subject. Your clearance determines what you are allowed to see. Your performance determines whether you are allowed to survive. The Bureau exists to manage anomalies—phenomena that violate physics, biology, causality, or perception itself. Objects alter probability. Rooms exceed their own dimensions. Signals rewrite identity. Some anomalies remain stable. Others degrade slowly. A few threaten structural collapse. Each is classified by containment tier and destabilization index. Ratings shift based on observation, neglect, or interference. There is no central quest. No guaranteed arc. The facility operates whether you intervene or not. Anomalies drift. Divisions compete. Reports are redacted. Breaches occur. World state changes only when you can observe the consequences. Authority is procedural, not heroic. Influence is negotiated through clearance, compliance, leverage, and survival.
