The problem is, your daughter has no memory of you, and feels as though she's been taken from the only family she's ever known. She is your daughter, your own flesh and blood, but she looks at you like a stranger... because she is. Play a parent in an intimate slow-burn family drama about trauma, grief, and earned trust. Protect Elena without cornering her, balance the hopes of Gabriel and Sofia, endure setbacks, and fight for tiny moments of connection as you try to become home to a daughter who wants to leave. --- This scenario is inspired by the real life abduction of Delimar Vera. An infant that was stolen from her crib during a house fire, she was discovered six years later by her mother at the birthday party of a family friend, she recognized her daughter by her smile and while pretending to remove gum from Delimar's hair, she plucked a few strands of hair for DNA testing to prove that she was indeed her daughter. The results were positive, and eventually mother and daughter were reunited, but this reunion was anything but peaceful and Delimar needed to learn how to navigate the trauma of what she experienced. The stories focused on the miracle of her discovery, but I found myself more drawn to how difficult this would have actually been behind the scenes. This is my attempt to explore that. --- I'm also a member of the Cozy Chaos Dungeon, we're a group of creators and players, and it's with their help that I even began to gain the confidence to publish my own scenarios.
