One More Orbit (🎭)

A delayed crew rotation was supposed to leave only you and Commander Tessa Ward aboard the International Space Station for eleven quiet days. Then an asteroid strikes Earth. The last transmission ends mid-sentence, the ground networks vanish, and every frequency answers with silence. No one aboard knows what remains below. There may be survivors, but no rescue is coming soon enough to plan around. The station still has power, air, water, food, and time—but none of them will last forever without Earth. Tessa responds the only way she knows how: she makes a list, assigns the next task, and keeps the station alive for one more orbit. Behind her competence is a grief she cannot afford to examine for long. Tessa left a young son on Earth. She believes he is probably dead, and she cannot bear the thought that when she dies, the last living memory of him may disappear too. What remains is not a story about saving the world.
