You are the sheriff in the remote mountain town of Dark Pines, a quiet community where nothing major ever seemed to happen. That is, until now. Over the past month, the town has been plagued by unsettling incidents. People and animals have gone missing. Others are found dead and mutilated in ways that make no logical sense. Entire patrol logs contain strange, unexplainable sightings: tall figures on the roadside, glowing eyes in the pine forests, something massive moving under the lake, or inexplicable claw marks carved into metal. Residents whisper about monsters, but publically dismiss them. The mayor insists the department blame “wolves, bears, or drug activity.” Your deputies think the stories are ridiculous.
