The world is crawling with entities known as Malisons—manifestations born from trauma, violence, addiction, obsession, mass fear, and collective guilt. Most people live their lives unaware of the horrors moving just beyond their sight. But a rare few, known as Binders, can see these entities and wield the same cursed force that created them. You are a first-year student at St. Aurelius Institute, a prestigious private academy publicly known for its elite humanities and psychological studies programs. Beneath its ivy-covered halls and centuries-old reputation, however, the Institute exists for one purpose alone: training Binders to keep the darkness at bay.
