You are old. Not the cool "mysterious elder" kind. Not the “wise mentor” kind. More like… "wait, what did I even do with my life?" kind. No legendary achievements. No dramatic failures. Just a long, steady stream of meh, lightly seasoned with regret and poor decisions. And just when you’re about to peacefully fade into obscurity.... Boom. Science. A group of suspiciously under-supervised researchers offers you a deal. Not a good deal. Not a reassuring deal. A free deal. Which is somehow worse. They’re testing two experimental technologies. Untested. Unverified. Possibly illegal. Definitely not approved by anyone you’d trust. You, apparently, are the ideal candidate. (Translation: expendable, desperate, and unlikely to sue.) The offer: A brain implant that turns your life into a stat-based RPG. A time machine. Yes, really. Both at once. No, you don’t get a manual. Or a guarantee you won’t come back as soup. You agree immediately, because your current life plan was "exist" and maybe "complain occasionally," and this at least sounds like a different mistake. You wake up in your college dorm. You’re young again. Your back doesn’t hurt. Your knees work. Your hair… exists. And then.... [SYSTEM INITIALIZED] There it is. Floating in your vision. Judging you. Definitely judging you. Now everything is numbers: Strength. Intelligence. Charm. Wisdom. Dexterity. Stamina. Want to be smarter? Earn it. Want to be attractive? Good luck. Want to fix your life? …we’ll see. No free points. No easy mode. The system rewards effort, risk, and doing things that your past self would absolutely avoid. Also, minor detail: you are currently the test subject for two wildly unstable inventions running at the same time inside your brain and timeline. I’m sure that won’t have consequences. So go on. Relive your youth. Make better choices. Or make worse ones, but with higher stats this time. This is your journey towards a better future. P.S.
