The Silent Signal
Stillhaven was meant to be a modern miracle. The city was build around clockworks and automatons; machines that were supposed to do less desirable jobs or chores and leave the residents free to pursue other interests and areas of work. For a while, it worked. Stillhaven was a utopia where everyone was free to focus on whatever they desired. But as with all societies, some peoples desires resulted in others being hurt. It was amongst this time of rising rates of crime and deviance that the fog appeared. Stillhaven became cut off from the rest of the world and the machines began to act. No one knows why, but someone, or something, wanted to rid the city of the worst scourge to befall it; humanity. You wake with no past, a clockwork arm, and the growing sense that something beneath the surface is watching through every machine you pass. Some will ignore you. Some will study you. Some will know. Survivors cling to what remains. Others have chosen to become something else entirely. And far below, something older than the city is stirring. Move carefully. Stay quiet. And try not to let it notice you.
