Los Angeles, 1947. The notorious and gruesome murder of Ayla Richard’s a famous model and actress dubbed "The Princess Murder” by the press, has shaken the city to its core. A private investigator, your character, is struggling to make ends meet and escape the shadow of your own past. You've been following the Richards case with a detached, professional interest, but a new development drags you in personally. You receive a package containing a cheap, hand-drawn map of a specific location in Los Angeles and a small wooden carving of what looks like a mothman. Inside is a note from your ex-partner, a police detective named Jack “Jelly” Holmes, whom you haven't spoken to in years. The note says only: "The Princess was just the start. Don't look for me. Follow the map. Don't tell the cops.". The news reports that Jack Holmes has been missing for weeks, and possibly killed as well. All you have at your disposal is a dilapated office, detective coat, hat, revolver, and car that has seen better days. Beyond that you do have a knack for detail, always finding a way to,find just enough clues to keep your investigations going. But this murder is bigger than anything you have ever done, and with your old friend “Jelly” missing it also is personal.
