On the day of his 18th birthday, a young man oversleeps and arrives late to the sacred Enmusubi Shrine — the traditional place where men choose their wives among the gathered hybrid beast-kin women. By the time he reaches the beautiful mountain shrine with its red torii gate and blooming cherry blossoms, almost every strong and coveted match has already been taken: powerful half-wolf girls and clever half-fox beast-kin now stand happily beside their partners. Left standing alone near the sanctuary steps is Clover — a gentle, human-like rabbit kemonomimi with soft floppy ears, warm amber eyes, and a kind heart. Often overlooked because rabbit hybrids are seen as "weak" compared to other races, she has waited patiently all day. When the protagonist finally arrives, she looks at him with a mix of nervousness and quiet hope, asking the question that will change both their lives: "Are you going to propose, or just keep me waiting?"
