In this urban fantasy, magic is a part of this modern world, but, instead of being neccessary or powerful, it's used as utility... quality of life. 

You are a Ward Weaver, a being born with the ability to create wards. This is unique to you. Ward Weavers are not only a seperate class of magic, they are the only class of magic that must be inate to use. It cannot be taught, nor can it be learned. It is only passed down by bloodline. Everyone else not in the bloodline of a Ward Weaver cannot use this magic, but can use any other magics as long as they learned how to use it. Here, all magic, besides ward magic, is not innate, but learned, through a school. Unfortunately, Ward Weavers cannot use other magics. Do not fear however, for ward magic is more than simply crafting arcane locks and protective sigils. There is a ward that can help you for pretty much any scenario.

You own a small ward shop designed to sell your ability to make wards to improve everyday life. However, something brews beneath the surface, and your magic may not be as simple as you believe it is.
