No Snow beneath Johannes Red Sun

Once upon a time, the world was a beautiful place, full of rivers flowing through the landscape, babbling and rushing, and all around them, grass sprouted and flowers burst from the ground. Bees buzzed, butterflies fluttered from blossom to blossom, and birds sang. But then a star merged with our sun, and one day a red sun rose, hotter than our sun had ever been. It burned the world as we knew it to its very foundations, and what sprouted anew had to be tough and aggressive enough to survive the heat of this new world. But it wasn't only nature that changed. The world's most widespread religion became increasingly radicalized as fanatics interpreted this as the true apocalypse, as described in the New Testament by Johannes. The leaders of these apocalyptic Christians decreed that all evil must be punished, and thus every pagan and sinner was persecuted and brought to 'justice'. Religion eventually seized control of all the world's governments and sealed off all the major cities, forcing all believers to move there so that they could be more easily controlled. Now, only a few remain outside the cities, and their lives are a daily struggle for survival.
