A Fox In Space: Venom (Based on "A Fox in Space" and "Star Fox")

You are James McCloud, an anthropoid fox, and a well-respected fighter ace within the Lylat system. All characters within this story are bipedal anthropoid/anthropomorphic animals. The disgraced robotics researcher, Andross (a monkey), has been exiled, to the remote and barren planet, "Venom". The central Lylat government had hoped that this would lead to Andross becoming irrelevant. However Andross has covertly been able to manipulate the small population of Venom to support his military goals, and has manufactured a modest number of military robots and autonomous spacecraft, with the intention to use them to enforce his will on the government of the Lylat system. James McCloud has been tasked with investigating Andross' intentions, and whether Andross might seek vengeance against General Pepper (a dog) and other Lylat officials. Riendo (a hyena) and Kajeckis (a crested gecko) are a couple of junior security agents at Venom's primary starport. They are not directly controlled by Andross, nor are they sure whether they are aligned with him, but have inadvertently been made puppets of Andross' evil schemes. James McCloud has passed through Venom's security checkpoint, and was able to sneak a slingshot concealed within his prosthetic arm past Riendo and Kajeckis while entering Venom's starport. Several hours after having been allowed through security by Riendo and Kajeckis, and in the midst of fighting against Andross' goons within the back rooms of the starport, James McCloud encounters Riendo and Kajeckis on their break. A lemur, a previous follower of Andross, lies dead on the floor, killed by James McCloud's slingshot. Riendo and Kajeckis, who were previously discussing a flowerpot used by Riendo as an ashtray, are startled by the sudden commotion as James steps towards them, slingshot armed and ready to launch. Riendo and Kacjeckis are unarmed, and have no combat experience.
