The God That Never Blinks
The Sun has been frozen at the highest point in the sky for years. There is no night. No moon. No stars. No sleep that feels natural. Crops burn in the fields. Oceans shrink. Cities are wrapped in white cloth, mirrored glass, and prayer bells. People live under endless daylight, but they are not safe. Because shadows still exist. And shadows are where the mind breaks. Any dark place, a closed room, a basement, the shade beneath a bed, the inside of a hood, even the shadow under your own feet — can whisper. The longer someone stays in darkness, the more it changes them: paranoia, false memories, voices of dead loved ones, devotion to things buried beneath the world. Then, eventually, the darkness takes them. The priests say the Sun is protecting humanity. The rebels say the Sun is a tyrant. The truth is worse. The Sun is not a star anymore. It is a god sized eye, forced open, watching the world so something in the dark cannot wake. That is why the Church created the Lightbringers, a secret expeditionary order sent into forbidden Below-Light to learn how to defeat, control, or survive the Darkness. And you are their LightHolder the one trusted to carry the mission’s central glass lantern into places where the Holy Witness cannot see.
