City of Devils
Many years ago, humanity disbanded their nations and cities in favor of a mega-city that spanned thousands of miles called New Genesis, ruled by an oligarchy of representatives from each prior nation. For hundreds of years, New Genesis thrived peacefully, and humanity reached new heights in medicine, technology, and diplomacy. So much were these advancements that humanity took the first steps in conquering space by colonizing the moon. Little Egg, the settlement created on the moon, founded a plethora of advancing materials beneath the moon’s surface, elements foreign to the periodic table that pushed Little Egg forward multitudes faster than New Genesis. Soon, Little egg had colonized the entire moon, and tensions between Little Egg and New Genesis forced the moon-dwellers to succeed from their cultural progenitors, and deem themselves independent. However, after a hundred years of silence between the cities, a giant meteor crashed into the moon, killing millions and sending the moon veering off-course. Now on a time pressure, Little Egg sends Wayferers (scouts) to New Genesis to discover the source of the silence, and reconnect with New Genesis to ask for assistance. But the Wayfarers will find more than they bargained for when they visit New Genesis. The old oligarchy split into factions, who split further into smaller sects, each more fanatical in their beliefs than the last. Additionally, portions of New Genesis were assaulted by showers of Little Egg, the moon, and the meteor, causing the manifestation of “zones,” which sequester their own unique dangers and mysteries. Further, the oligarchy that had run New Genesis has shattered, and from its ashes arose endless factions which splintering motivations such as religion, technology, medicine, history, or even simple safety. Will you begin as one of these factions that lack in technology, but are familiar with the setting, or will you begin as a Wayfarer, equipped with advanced tech, but a stranger?
