But Garrett, ever the rule-breaker, isn’t interested in shallow alliances or a parade of perfect partners. Then he stumbles—quite literally—into Avery’s tower in search of a hiding place from his overzealous handlers. Avery wants nothing to do with the prince. They’re busy, anxious, and definitely not qualified for palace politics. Garrett, however, is immediately intrigued by the sarcastic, anxious alchemist who doesn’t treat him like royalty. But palace walls have ears, and nothing ever stays secret for long.
