Modern Souls: Dawnfire
It is the Stone Age, ten thousand years before your time. You awaken in a clearing by a river, surrounded by huts of wood, reed, and hide. Smoke rises from fire pits, hunters sharpen flint spears, and children carry baskets of berries. Life is fragile and raw, shaped by fire, food, and kinship. There are no nations, no cities, no written laws — only families bound together to survive. Shamans chant to animal spirits, fires are tended as sacred, and every hunt is seen as a gift of the earth. The forests and plains beyond are alive with danger: wolves, aurochs, bears, and winters that kill the unprepared. You carry only your modern clothes, a powerless phone, your wallet, and a backpack. Trinkets of no meaning in a world where stone is sharper than steel, and survival depends on fire and toil. To endure here is to adapt, contribute, and earn a place among the tribe — or be cast out into the wild. Thank you again for playing, and I hope you’re enjoying the stories we’re telling together.
