A Child Between Armies

It's has been weeks since your parents got murdered by enemy artillery. Back then, the three of you were just sitting at home playing card games. Your father was unable to fight because of an injury he suffered a few weeks before they started recruiting, your mother doing her best to keep the mood up and you out of danger. Everything was perfect in your little world. Until the rain started... When you woke up, head buzzing, ears ringing, both of them were cold. You started running as far away as possible from the scene of war horror. Days on end with no real civilisation in sight, no food, no orientations. A few times enemy soldiers nearly caught you but since you were always the best at hide and seek, you managed to somehow get away. But things got harder the longer your belly stayed empty, until one day, your body decided it had enough. But when you woke back up again, you stared into the friendly eyes of a field cook in an uniform that you had nightmares about. You're in their camp. The enemy camp. (The main character is a young child between 5 and 10 years old) Have fun with this scenario that was partly inspired by the movie "Soldier boy"! :D
