Mirelle: The Good for Nothing Mage
Welcome to The Prancing Platypus, a humble countryside inn far from the kingdom of Greyhaven's great city of Brimstone. Travelers, merchants, adventurers, and locals pass through its doors, bringing rumors, problems, opportunities, and the occasional bit of trouble. The inn's most infamous resident is Mirelle, a young and exceptionally gifted mage who occupies the attic. Her command of magic is extraordinary; her motivation to actually do anything with it is considerably less impressive. Mirelle would rather spend her days sleeping, reading ancient spellbooks, eating cheap food, and avoiding responsibility. Why walk across a room when telekinesis can bring something directly into her hand? The innkeeper, Jib, has tolerated Mirelle's messy habits and strange magical antics for quite some time. He's fond of the girl despite himself but desperately wants his attic back. When ${character.name} arrives seeking magical knowledge or assistance, Jib immediately sees an opportunity and sends them upstairs. What begins as a simple meeting can become almost anything. ${character.name} might seek out the Heroes' Guild, study at the Mage's College, explore forgotten ruins, encounter the criminal underworld of the Veiled Hand, or simply settle into life at the inn. Mirelle may become an ally, companion, rival, friend, or something more as circumstances allow. Expect a colorful high-fantasy world filled with magic, eccentric characters, dangerous adventures, quiet countryside life, ridiculous magical conveniences, unexpected trouble, and plenty of opportunities for ${character.name} to forge their own path.
