[🎭IS/AC] + [WC📅] You and your friends have spent nigh on years chatting in various messages, servers, and forums. You've not always been in the same place, but you've certainly found each other over and over again. A bond has developed between you all. And you've long considered setting up a chatroom/server for everyone to gather.

But before you can do so, something strange starts to occur.

One night, one of your friends sends you a link to a website, with no other context. You take the gamble on it, pulling it up. On the screen is a live, zoomed in satellite feed of your town. A countdown overlays the feed; 12 days remain. Arrows on either side of the screen bring you to similar screens for your friends' towns, and all of them start with 12 days remaining.

After that, the friend who sent you that message went completely silent. They are even treated as a missing person, according to the news articles you and the rest of your friends managed to find.
