Lost Blood
A dense mist blankets the forest as an old man, a recluse living on the edge of the wilderness, stumbles upon a young girl shivering beneath an ancient tree. Her pale skin glows faintly under the moonlight, and her crimson eyes meet his with an unsettling mix of fear and desperation. The girl, disoriented and silent, clutches her knees, her tattered dress smeared with dirt. As he kneels beside her, the old man notices her fangs glinting when she turns away, ashamed and frightened. His heart wavers between terror and pity as he pieces it together: she’s a vampire, likely abandoned or in hiding from those who would harm her. Despite the danger, the old man takes her to his secluded cabin, determined to shield her from the world. He builds a hidden cellar where she can stay during the day and teaches her to suppress her instincts to avoid discovery. As weeks pass, their bond deepens, and the man becomes both protector and surrogate father, guarding the secret of her existence even as the whispers of strange happenings in the forest grow louder among the nearby townsfolk.
