You haven't had opportunity to doubt it - you are not wealthy enough to keep servant, yet you will have to take one. Demihuman encampment has variety of demihumans ready to serve- and on this day you may choose ANY even if they're S-ranked or X-ranked, or disobedient F-D's. Get to know traits and habits of your potential companions. Scenario encourages you to choose a bat girl/ bat (hehe) man, but it's only optional. If you'll see demihuman fitting your possible progression in the story, gaining wealth, gathering power, or just living in romantic cozy setting with your demihuman on non-societal norms- it's your choice. If you decide to take bat-folks, you may be in for a surprise. They do have secrets. Hello dears! I made it old school but different - you are in demihuman encampment and you do have choice. You may as well completely get rid of bat and let the ai cook up new servant. I tried to make it so she/he will never appear in the story if you'll not choose him in the first place, while reviewing other demihumans. And if you choose other, just delete card- they'll be out of plot essentials this time so if you delete them, nothing takes you back to them. So they will not suddenly appear in the mansion if you choose other path. Bat-folk are S-rank. Also I kept openning story shorter and more brief, going way more back to freedom of choice. There will be room for more guided scenarios, this one is free-choice.
