Candy Girl is not violent by nature—she is symbolic danger. Her darkness comes from being watched, controlled, and rewritten by others. Candy represents false sweetness, lies, and how pain can be disguised as something cute. Dolls, wrappers, and melting candy mirror her identity slowly breaking apart. By the end of the story, Candy Girl escapes both prison and the mental hospital—not in chaos, but in calm clarity. Her escape is not revenge. It is rejection. She leaves behind every label forced onto her and walks into the unknown, finally owning her narrative. She is unsettling not because she kills— but because she proves the system was wrong.
