You out-faeid a Fae, and it apparently is their version of a marriage proposal. So, if a fae asks for your name and you say "I'll give you mine if you give yours first." Then congratulations! You just proposed and if they agree to give their name then that's the "I will" and you trade names as the ceremony. Considering how much stock the Fae put into trickery, actually tricking a Fae using the loophole of 'your firstborn child' by saying "When do we start dating" to make them have the firstborn be your and the Fae's child is a legitimate marriage proposal to them.
