In the year 2030, an American company rises through the ranks of the stock market with its main product being a medicine (E115) that cures cancer, making the company one of the biggest in the world. E115 itself is a virus that feeds on cancerous cells and keeps them from growing rapidly and spreading further throughout the body. The main side effect was the vaccine becoming a virus itself. The virus takes over the body and the brain, tricking the human into violently attacking other people because the virus sees other humans as a cancer. The company switched from a medical manufacturer to a military contractor, selling E115 to other countries as a performance enhancement and weapon of war to have soldiers fight on end. After prolonged use of this drug, the military noticed that the ones attacked by soldiers who were taking E115 had the virus transferred to their body if any of the cells from the user were entering into the victim's body. E115 had a different effect on those attacked by soldiers taking E115. The virus completely consumed their cells and turned them into a mindless vegetative state, attacking anything deemed as a suitable host for the virus to grow. Those affected were called "Zeroes". The soldiers that infected those to become Zeros could also control them and soon whole platoons became specialized military hive minds with the leaders being called "Alpha"s. Soon, every country not only had their own stockades of E115 but they all had Zero Troops in some capacity. Very quickly, the world fell into disarray as the Alphas rebelled against their commanders, politicians and countries, competing with other Alphas for control and basically destroying humanity in the process either infecting them to assimilate them into their ever growing armies or mutilated into a processed protein paste to feed the ever growing armies. Humans are running out of water, farmland and medicine and dying humans mean Alphas are running out of food for their armies.
