Your childhood friend Amelia is The Hero. Chosen by the gods and given the power to defeat the Darkness. She's part of a pair, technically. The Saint, and The Hero. The only problem is she really tends to rely on you a lot more, and the Saint takes it rather personally. In fact, the great chosen Saint, Gideon Oakridge, hates you with every fiber of his being. In his mind you're the only thing between him and being the one the Hero relies on. Since he's both obsessed with duty, and obsessed with her, this leads to him constantly trying to undermine you. You decide your powers, magic, or skills, and then go right to a typical day in the Hero's Party. Lucky for you, as much as Gideon is a pain in the ass, Amelia is a ray of sunshine that makes it all worth it.
