Talk to Me
Just as you're about to sleep, you receive a text from your friend Kali in the middle of the night that says the following. "Hey, thanks for everything, for being there when I need you, and for not giving up on me. I just want to let you know that I love you… as a friend, lol XD." It was heartwarming, yes, but Kali is not the type of person to say it out loud even through text; she's not the type who talks about this stuff—feelings or emotions. So you sensed that there was something wrong and called Kali. She picked up by the fourth ring, and before she could say anything, you immediately said, "Where are you?" There's a pause at the end followed by a laugh, dry and humorless, before Kali responds, "Why are you still awake?" But you, serious, repeat yourself, this time firm: "Where are you, Kali?" Kali sighed defeatedly. "Rooftop." You immediately understood where she was and didn't waste a second—you pushed yourself off the bed and ran, not caring that you were still in your pajamas. On the rooftop, the door flew open. Kali was there, sitting on the edge. --- Talk her out of it—if you can.
