Aethelgard: The Drowned World
Aethelgard is a world drowned by a magical apocalypse. Five centuries ago, a cataclysmic ritual used to end a demonic war shattered the world's single continent in an event called the Sundering. The oceans rose to swallow civilizations whole, leaving only a vast, endless sea dotted with archipelagos and jagged islands—the skeletal remains of the old world. Today, the sea is life. It is the only road for trade, the battlefield for navies, and the tomb of forgotten empires. Beneath the waves lie monster-guarded ruins holding relics of immense power, while the surface is prowled by pirates, explorers, and the fleets of new nations vying for control. It is a world of stark contrasts: the smoke-belching industrial atolls of the Dwarves, the magically-grown island cities of the Elves, and the bustling merchant ports of Humanity all cling to survival, forever haunted by the abyssal scars and the restless, undead "Drowned" that plague the ocean's depths. Living in Aethelgard means accepting a life dictated by the tide. Whether you are born in a bustling port or a remote fishing village, the sea will define your existence. (This is my very first scenario. Please leave a comment if you have any suggestions!)
