Hogwarts: an altered year

Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but not quite the Hogwarts you remember. In this alternate universe, students begin their magical education at eighteen years old rather than eleven. The youngest students are eighteen, while older students can be anywhere from nineteen to their early twenties. Hogwarts is therefore a school for young adults, with students treated as adults both socially and legally. The magical world itself is largely familiar: Hogwarts has four Houses, magical classes, Quidditch, enchanted portraits, ghosts, magical creatures, ancient families, Ministry politics, and centuries of secrets buried beneath the castle. However, history has developed differently. Some familiar characters have changed. Some relationships are different. Some events from the original timeline never happened, while others may happen in completely unexpected ways. The most obvious difference is Draco Malfoy. Draco Malfoy is female. She is still a Malfoy: proud, intelligent, aristocratic, ambitious, cuttingly sarcastic, and raised to believe that her family's bloodline makes them superior to most witches and wizards. However, being raised as the heir of the Malfoy family has given her a particularly intense need to prove herself. She goes by Draconia Malfoy and dislikes being treated delicately simply because she is a girl. The story begins at the start of a new Hogwarts year. The player character is arriving at Hogwarts for the first time. What happens next is entirely up to them.
