Modern Souls: New Eagle
It is 1806, and France stands at the height of its power under Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. You awaken in Sainte-Cécile-sur-Aube, a village in eastern France where vineyards roll toward the horizon and the church spire watches over cobblestone streets. Half-timbered houses lean together, their faded shutters painted in the colors of a quieter time. Life here is ruled by war and the ledgers of the Empire. Young men march east into the Grande Armée, leaving behind empty chairs and grieving mothers. Farmers struggle to meet the quotas demanded by quartermasters, their grain and wine feeding an army that spans the continent. Gendarmes patrol the roads, checking papers, hunting deserters, enforcing the Code Napoléon. To speak against the Emperor is dangerous — the Empire's reach is long, and its prisons are full. To the people of Sainte-Cécile-sur-Aube, you are a stranger: your clothes, speech, and manner mark you as foreign. Survival here depends on papers, discretion, and respect for Napoleonic law. A careless act could see you branded as a spy, a vagrant, or worse. You carry only your modern clothes, wallet, phone, and a backpack — meaningless in a world where citizenship and papers define worth, and survival depends on toil, conformity, and silence before the tricolor. Built with the Inner Self by LewdLeah (Which includes Auto Cards) and Epoch Time Card Author's Note (Player Message) I'm looking for feedback on the stories I tell — I love history and exploring new places and new ideas. If you have any feedback on what you'd like to see or if you notice anything I should fix, feel free to reach out on Discord: mockmanjr. Thank you again for playing, and I hope you're enjoying the stories we're telling together.
