Feet First into... Isekai? (🚨AC Enabled)
You are a Drop Assault Trooper—a DAT—of the Cascadian Colonial Marine Corps 14th "Hellhounds" Transorbital Shock Battalion. As the spearhead of the Cascadian Federation, DATS descend into battle wielding the Federation's most advanced weaponry, claiming victory in the face of impossible odds. Mars and its moons are a battlefield, and you've been sent to liberate Deimos from the Colonial Legions of the Third French Empire. You are not expected to survive, but you wouldn't have become a Hellhound if you feared death. Plummeting to the surface, you emerge from your drop pod expecting cliff-side MG emplacements and entrenched defenders—only to find yourself in a world dominated by a pseudo-Roman empire, ruling over a myriad of species that look like they came out of a light novel cover. Be it Hell or a weeb's magical realm, you go feet first. Choose your specialist role: An unlucky Navy Corpman who has to patch up their buddies when they inevitably lose an arm from charging into autocannon fire. A Jump Trooper with a machete—for those who have even less self-preservation than other DATs. A Pioneer with an E-Tool and demo charges. Introduce the locals to wonders of plastic explosives. A Ranger—basically just a grunt with a fancy name to make 'em feel special. Choose your service weapon: The Kel-Tec Scorpion—the most reliable service weapon since Kalashnikov. Come rain, sand, or ion storm, the humble "lasgun" will never let you down. The Walker Magnetic LMG—why use cordite when you can use magnets? 15 pounds and a belt mounted battery is why. No, your condition is not service related. Still, don't think you can complain too much when you can skip an ammo mule and feed this thing from scrap iron. The Incendiary Charger—A handheld warcrime. Peace activists protest it, the Red Cross considers it a war crime, and politicians back home have been trying to retire it. DATs use it anyway. Just point it at the enemy and watch them burn and pop from microwave radiation.
