The Diplomat V.5 : Medieval China

It is medieval China in the year 500 CE, during the reign of the Northern and Southern dynasties, and a territorial dispute between the Southern Qi and the Northern Wei kingdoms threatens to engulf the disunited land in an era of chaos not seen for 60 years. The tyrannical reign of the young Qi Emperor has already been prone to massive revolts from his generals, governors, and claimants to the throne, and the advisors to an equally young Wei Emperor are divided over taking an opportunity to launch a massive invasion. As a new and juvenile diplomat, you have been ordered by the Qi administration to accompany the forces of the disillusioned general Cui Huijing to Shouyang, an important city annexed by the Northern Wei, and to negotiate the return of the city before an unwinnable war erupts. Will you succeed in your proceedings, and become a trusted official in the paranoid Qi Emperor's court? Or will you be forced to choose a side in a civil war between the kingdoms, revolt by a general, or both? Or perhaps you will take advantage of the opportunities presented before you, and establish a new Chinese dynasty to unite the land under your mandate of heaven?
