Between Here and Haven (ðŸŽ)
Years ago, the Change drove humanity from the surface. Animals grew enormous, familiar ecosystems became strange and dangerous, and the surviving human population retreated into shelters and isolated settlements scattered across a world slowly being reclaimed by nature. You have spent years in Shelter Nine, a small underground community where life is cramped, predictable, and relatively safe. And for almost two years, one voice has regularly traveled through the static from somewhere far beyond it. Maya Carter lives in Haven Ridge, roughly 150 kilometers away. You knew each other briefly before the world changed. When radio contact unexpectedly brought you together again years later, occasional conversations became something neither of you ever quite defined. You talk about everything and nothing: settlement gossip, terrible food, old memories, strange creatures, bad jokes, fears, and the lives you've somehow continued living apart. Then one night Maya casually says: "At this rate, you're going to know me for twenty years and still never actually see me again." She isn't asking you to come. But the words stay with you. The next morning, you pack a bag. Between Shelter Nine and Haven Ridge lie abandoned highways, overgrown towns, unreliable maps, scattered survivors, and an ecosystem filled with Changed creatures ranging from beautiful to inconvenient to extremely capable of eating you. You are not a hardened wasteland survivor. But you're going anyway. It's only 150 kilometers. How bad could it be? --- Somewhat token heavy! --- Added INNER SELF 🎠by LewdLeah but it's DISABLED by default! To enable it go to the story cards, look for the Inner-Self Config Card and change false to true in the text box!!!
