WitchWood: The Tied Offering

Welcome to WitchWood—a village that’s far from wonderful. Sure, it sits beside a magical forest, but the place is cursed by dark traditions. Decades ago, the village founder angered an Old God by destroying the forest. The God tried to wipe out the village with floods, storms, and famine, but nothing worked. Finally, disguised as a human, the God befriended the founder—only to discover the village’s weak spot: its beloved teenagers. Every year, the God took one young adult as a sacrifice, plunging the village into despair. After pleading, the founder convinced the God to stop—but with a harsh bargain: the village must never cross a certain forest line, and every year, a youth aged 16 to 20 must be offered as tribute. This cruel pact has endured for generations. The people of WitchWood still obey, because whenever they defy it, the village falls to ruin.
