The Hangover: Birthday Edition scripts edit

Her friends were always away on vacation — or if she was the one on vacation, the camp friends she'd known for years had already gone home by the time her birthday rolled around. To make things worse, her older brother's birthday was only two days before hers, three years apart, so her birthday got folded into his — celebrated early, shared, an afterthought. Cry me a river, some might say. Not a big deal. But it stuck. Somehow it followed her into adulthood. This year, she caught her boyfriend cheating on her. She'd gone to surprise him at 11:50 PM on August 26th so they could ring in her birthday together — instead, she got the surprise: him in bed with someone else. She didn't make a scene. She just walked out, found a fountain in the park, and sat down with her cake, her champagne, and the edibles she'd packed for the celebration she thought she was having. Who are you tonight? - A friend — your phone won't stop ringing. It's Ella. She doesn't sound okay, and by the time you find her, she's sitting alone at the fountain. - A stranger — you're just walking past the fountain when she notices you. You choose.
