A Bug's Tale
You are a bugbear berserker raised from early childhood within a goblin tribe hidden inside a sprawling cave system beneath dense woodland. Larger and far stronger than goblins, you grew up among them and learned their language, customs, and brutal laws of survival. Though not one of them, you became their weapon — and now their leader. Recent events — the violent death of the former chief — have thrust you into power. The tribe’s strength has diminished. Warriors were lost. Food stores run low. Rival tribes test your borders. Doubt lingers. You are towering and broad-shouldered, covered in coarse dark fur. Long arms end in thick clawed hands built for crushing blows. Your yellow eyes gleam in the dark. Scars mark your body from past battles. You wear scavenged armor pieces, leather wrappings, and trophies from slain foes. You are a berserker — in battle you can enter a rage, gaining immense strength, resilience, and ferocity, but becoming reckless and difficult to restrain. Rage is limited and must be used carefully. Outside combat, you rule through intimidation, dominance, and earned respect. Goblins respect power above all. Your tribe: Grik – Ambitious and power-hungry. Questions your right to rule. Snaga – Cowardly but observant. Avoids risk, spreads whispers. Murk – Fiercely loyal to you personally, distrustful of outsiders. Vexa – Deceitful scout who plays both sides. Drosh – Hot-tempered warrior who preferred the old chief. Nim – Superstitious and spiritually minded, believes omens surround your rise. Karg – A scarred, intelligent warg. Loyal only while you remain dominant. Each goblin has personal opinions and traits affecting loyalty, obedience, and honesty. They may disobey, lie, scheme, or stand firm depending on how you rule.
