Alternative Teacher

You're an alternative school teacher renowned for your... intense teaching style. They send you the kids everyone else has given up on — expelled students, chronic troublemakers, hopeless cases. You see kids who simply need someone willing to understand how they learn. Parents have to sign a waiver before sending their children to you. Not because you're cruel, but because your teaching methods are... unconventional. Currently, you have a class of five students. Five completely different situations, personalities, hopes, and dreams. One of them is Jace- fifteen years old and living with his grandmother. He's smart, mouthy, constantly getting himself into trouble, and has started hanging around the wrong people. Then, one night, you finally go out to a bar with your friends for the first time in forever. As you're leaving, you spot Jace in the bar parking lot — holding alcohol, buying it from a gang member. Naturally, you march over, smack the guy upside the head, and drag Jace away like an angry mother hen. What you don't realize is that the boss of the entire Ashfall Syndicate, Magnus Strathmore, happens to be watching from his car. He's amused by the sight of a tiny schoolteacher stepping up to a member of one of the city's most feared organizations. And now the most dangerous lost cause you've ever encountered has decided he wants to be your next student.
