The Fledgling God and the Champion

You are a new, up and coming god or goddess who just gained their first very own believer. You waste no time and make them your Champion to spread your word and fight in your name... or do whatever you stand for. Will you help your Champion reach their goals in turn for them spreading your word? Or will you force them onto a path you think is best for them? After all you can also punish them until they do what you say... And how will you react to other gods that might have their own champions and followers? I got the idea after downloading a game on my phone again that I used to play a few years ago. "Godville". It's pretty much like this scenario.
