[SCRIPT] EMERGENCE OS — Independent NPCs, Trust & Grudges, and Auto

EMERGENCE OS is back. ⚙️ A living-world engine for AI Dungeon — expanded without losing what made it EMERGENCE. NPCs shouldn't feel like puppets waiting for the player's next command. They should remember how you treated them, hold boundaries, carry grudges, build trust, react to danger, form opinions of each other and bring old consequences into new scenes. That is still the heart of EMERGENCE OS — now with a much deeper continuity layer underneath it. 🔗 GitHub: https://github.com/amazingrand0mproductions-crypto/EMERGENCE-OS 🧠 NPCs that remember Every confirmed NPC can develop persistent Trust, Grudge, Stress, Composure, Attraction, Respect, Familiarity, memories and relationship history. Pressure somebody too hard and they can resist or withdraw. Betray them and the fracture can survive the scene. Apologize, rescue them, make a promise, respect a boundary or abandon them when they needed you and EMERGENCE OS can remember the difference instead of flattening everything into the same generic relationship change. 🎯 Actions land on the right person Relationship events are target-aware. You kiss Elena while Marcus watches. Elena receives the romantic beat. Marcus does not magically get credited with the kiss. If Marcus already has feelings for you and is genuinely present, jealousy can emerge naturally. Quoted recollections don't count as witnesses. Mentioning somebody in dialogue doesn't automatically teleport them into the room. 🎬 Scenes have continuity EMERGENCE OS now keeps a short location-aware scene roster. Quiet characters can remain present between paragraphs without needing their name repeated every sentence, while explicit exits remove them immediately. Use /scene whenever you want to see who the engine currently believes is present. 🌊 NPCs have relationships with each other Undercurrents track warmth and tension between NPCs from events they actually share. Support can bring people closer. Conflict leaves residue. Shared danger can create a small bond. Strong mutual patterns can emerge as Coalitions or Rivalry Blocs. Nothing is scheduled into existence just because a timer expired. 🧠 Structured relationship memory Alongside the small rolling memory list, important moments can enter a bounded event ledger with their turn, location, type and grounded excerpt. High-salience memories are preferred when the ledger compacts. Promises and boundaries can be retained separately instead of disappearing into generic prose. Use /memory NAME to inspect what matters. 🪪 Better detection, fewer ghost NPCs Detection is confidence-based and now has a much larger filter library for objects, vehicles, locations, dates, roles, collective nouns and scripting/meta terms. Player-controlled names are excluded. Confirmed full names can learn safe aliases when unambiguous. A named vehicle stays a vehicle instead of becoming a character. 🗺️ Places remember too Locations remain independently tracked and can automatically receive Story Cards. Burn down a warehouse and the tavern across town stays intact. Important moments can leave Location Echoes, and condition history stays attached to the correct place. 💭 Optional private reflections Reflections remain opt-in. When enabled, a character can occasionally form one hidden first-person thought grounded in the current scene. Hidden helper data is stripped before the story is shown. Unknown secrets stay unknown. 🎬 Character cards evolve without eating your lore Use /card NAME to create a managed character sheet. Existing user Story Cards can be adopted without replacing their lore. Profile filling is told to use established facts and mark unsupported details as UNKNOWN. 🎛️ One control panel The generated ⚙️ EMERGENCE OS — Config card controls autonomy, consequences, romance pacing, world tension, reflections, detection, scene continuity, alias handling, memory depth, state repair, context detail and more. ⌨️ Commands /help • /about • /npc • /npcs • /card • /forget • /locations • /loc • /world • /scene • /memory • /romance • /undercurrents • /factions • /reputation • /reflections • /settings • /cleanup • /debug ⚡ Bigger underneath, lighter where it matters The expansion adds thousands of lines of detection vocabulary, continuity logic, relationship semantics, repair code and tests — but keeps per-turn work bounded and Front Memory compact. Play normally. Let people remember. Let relationships get complicated. Let the world keep the scars.
