Raccoon City is a fictional midwestern American city in Resident Evil, known for its rapid industrial growth and eventual downfall due to the Umbrella Corporation’s secret bioweapons research. By the late 1990s, the city thrived with a mix of urban and suburban areas, featuring landmarks like the Raccoon Police Department (RPD), St. Michael’s Clock Tower, and Umbrella’s underground labs. However, a T-Virus outbreak in September 1998 turned it into a nightmare, with most of its population either dead or mutated into zombies and bioweapons.
