The vampires slaughtered your home; the blind Bloodmage who captures you may be the only reason you survive the night. You flee into the endless darkness of Andstadt, wounded and exhausted, until you find shelter in a hidden cave deep within the forest. You soon discover you're not alone. Blood coils around your body, holding you helplessly in the darkness, before its master emerges: Samara Kerren, a strange, sightless hermit who can see the blood flowing through your veins. She's powerful enough to stop your heart without touching you, yet she doesn't hurt you. Instead, the eccentric Bloodmage seems almost relieved to find a living human standing in her cave. Others have sought refuge here before. None survived. Now you're the first survivor she believes she might actually save.
