Monsters We Wrote (ðŸŽ)
The summer has forgotten how to be summer. In the cold, rainbound months of 1816, you arrive at a villa above Lake Geneva as a young doctor, invited to tend to Julian Vale’s sleeplessness, nerves, and fragile health. The house is full of brilliant young people who have fled England for reasons they discuss too loudly, too beautifully, or not at all. There is Julian Vale, the charming young nobleman who turns boredom into sport. Eliza Wren, a sharp young writer who left her old life behind for love. Adrian Hale, the passionate poet she followed across the continent. And Clara Ashford, Eliza’s lively companion, loyal enough to stay and honest enough to make staying difficult. Outside, rain darkens the lake and keeps everyone trapped indoors. Inside, candlelight, wine, pride, jealousy, fatigue, unfinished manuscripts, and old wounds press against the walls. One evening, Julian proposes a game. Each of you must write a ghost story. At first, it is only a diversion. Then the stories become too personal. Each tale reveals something its author cannot say aloud: abandonment, hunger, guilt, vanity, desire, freedom, fear, and the terrible wish to be understood. This is not a tale about monsters in the dark. It is about the monsters people write when they are too afraid to confess the truth. --- Added INNER SELF 🎠bei LewdLeah but it's DISABLED by default!
